BOP Learning Lab Director's Summit

Objective

The Base of the Pyramid (BoP) Learning Lab Network grew out of the USA BoP Learning Lab, under the direction of Professor Stuart L. Hart. BoP Learning Labs are learning communities of leaders from companies, NGOs, multilateral organizations and universities. Members work together to generate and disseminate knowledge about the concepts, theory and practice of creating business opportunities in BoP markets. BoP Learning Labs are currently being established in Argentina, Brazil, China, Denmark, France, Germany, India, the Netherlands, Mexico, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, USA and Venezuela. Emergia Institute organizes the German BoP Learning Lab.

Programme

Directors of the forming BoP Learning Labs met for the first time in Tilburg (Netherlands) to launch the Global Network. The conjoint endeavor will concentrate on topics such as executive education, impact assessment of BoP ventures, benchmarking of companies competing in BoP-markets and the role of NGOs and development agencies in building sustainable business models that benefit the poor.
