Publication 'Entwicklungsgeschäfte'
Project Context
Many German companies can benefit from inclusive business development, and interest in this mostly untapped segment is growing. As there was no German publication available that helps companies take the first steps into this new and challenging market, Emergia Institute is worked on closing this gap, and just published a primer on inclusive business ('Entwicklungsgeschäfte') in November 2009.
Project Objective
The primer facilitates the first steps into the development of inclusive business models for German companies. It summarizes available know how and data in an easily accessible and attractive format. Ultimately, it contributes to increased engagement of German companies in low-income markets and more businesses that deliver good, services, and income opportunities to people in poverty.
Project Output
Emergia launched the primer in November 2009 at the GTZ Haus in Berlin, together with the project partners, BMZ and DIHK. It includes insights on the idea of inclusive business, the business opportunities and the market situation as well as concrete recommendations on how to develop such business models along the project cycle. Useful contacts and references are also included.
