CSR WeltWeit - Enhancing Information on International Opportunities for CSR
Project context
An exploratory study conducted by the Emergia Institute revealed that information offers for German companies aiming to internationally scale-up their CSR projects and strategies are fairly scarce.
With the support of the Emergia Institute, the Bertelsmann foundation is now developing a web-portal that addresses this information gap. Partners from German federal ministries as well as private sector actors are additionally contributing their knowledge and expertise to this endeavour.
Project objective
The Portal is designed to:
- Inspire companies to actively engage in sustainable management and corporate citizenship abroad
- Inform companies about the best practices as well as the situation for CSR in individual countries
- Enable companies to practice responsible management through practical tools
Project output
The portal provides global information on CSR, such as international standards, as well local information on a broad range of selected countries. These profiles - mainly focusing on the developing world - specifically highlight local challenges and opportunities for corporate engagement. The portal has been launched on December 15, 2008. The creation of content for the page is an ongoing tasks of the partners.
